A seamless shopping experience that helps sellers grow their business

Intro

KOALA is a SaaS omnichannel e-commerce platform that enables users to sell products via chat platforms. Previously, sales were done manually — users had to list products and send payment details through chat. With the new Webstore feature, users can now create their own online store, allowing customers to browse and purchase directly through the website.

Old KOALA was designed for chat based interaction, it was not scalable

Understanding the users: Sellers and Buyers

First, we have to understand KOALA's users. Though KOALA is an app that is meant for Sellers, there are actually another side of user that we have to consider: Buyers. For this feature, there are basically two main flows of users: First, Sellers create their webstore. Second, Buyers buy stuffs from the webstore.

Upload product

This flow allows sellers to easily add new items to their Webstore, including product images, descriptions, pricing, and inventory — all in just a few steps. The goal was to make the process intuitive and efficient, reducing the time and friction for sellers to get their products online and ready for customers to purchase

Share webstore

This feature enables sellers to easily promote their newly created Webstore. With just a few clicks, they can share a store link through popular chat messaging services.

Buyers' side

This feature enables easy shopping experience for customers to browse products, explore details, and add items to their cart — all within a clean, mobile-friendly Webstore interface

This feature ensures customers can easily complete purchases on the Webstore

Impact

After just 9 months since the Webstore feature launch, 85% of KOALA’s transactions now come through the Webstore. Between February and August 2022, the transaction feature activation rate nearly doubled, rising from 14% to 27%.


Today, the Webstore has become the preferred sales channel for KOALA’s users, significantly boosting their daily sales. Its seamless end-to-end shopping experience — from product discovery to checkout and payment — has made a meaningful impact on both sellers and customers.
